Wild Hog Damage Meeting Set for April 17 at Langston University

Langston University will hold a Wild Hog Damage meeting on Friday, April 17, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. in the E.L. Holloway Agriculture Center located on the Langston University main campus. Area landowners are invited to attend and complete a survey that will be used to develop a strategy for reducing feral swine damage.

Feral swine are present in all 77 Oklahoma counties. Langston University is partnering with the U.S.D.A. Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service to administer a survey to land owners who are experiencing feral swine damage to their farming operations in this area. The information generated from this survey during this meeting will be used by U.S.D.A. APHIS to develop strategies for reducing feral swine populations in Oklahoma.

Langston University is located 12 miles east of Guthrie on OK Highway 33. Attendance is free and refreshments will be served. For additional information, contact: George Luker, Aquaculture Specialist, gluker@langston.edu, office (405) 466-3077.
