About Us

What is the Oklahoma Pork Council?

The Oklahoma Pork Council has served the state’s pork producers since 1991. We are a producer-led organization representing the interests of all pork producers throughout Oklahoma. Through federally collected Pork Checkoff funds, we are able to promote pork and pork products, fund research, educate consumers and producers and the support the efforts of the Oklahoma pork industry.

Our Strategic Intentions

Outlined by Oklahoma pork industry leaders in February 2020, Oklahoma Pork will continue to build trust and create value by focusing our work in the following four strategic intention areas.

  • Image Enhancement- Strategically promote our industry through collaboration with the national pork organizations to demonstrate We Care principles

  • Workforce at All Levels- Create an atmosphere that allows members to attract, retain and excite the workforce of today and tomorrow

  • Freedom to Operate- Promote common-sense regulation following We Care principles

  • FAD Preparedness- Deepen relationships that expand Oklahoma Pork’s strategic competitive advantage on biosecurity and FAD preparedness

 

Our National Partners

The National Pork Producers Council works to ensure that the U.S. pork industry remains a consistent and responsible supplier of high quality pork to domestic and international markets through public-policy outreach, working on legislation, regulation, and trade initiatives,

 

The National Pork Board executes programs related to promotion, research and education. No funds may be used for lobbying or influencing government policy.
